Dickies British Junior Supersport rider Owen Jenner was racing at Snetterton with Bemsee this weekend. Jenner has stood on the podium in the national level class and although a step back to club level seems like an easy one, there was a close fought battle in every race.
The 2018 Kawasaki Team Green Junior Cup champ was running number 861 rather than his usual 86. Number 86 was taken by Formual 400 rider Matthew Scott. The first race saw Jenner having to make a last lap overtake on James Dutton for victory. Winning the race by just 0.4s. Owen secured the fastest lap meaning he started from pole position ahead of the split start. The other grid out there was the formula 400 squad.
Race two saw Jenner take another commanding victory, crossing the line each lap ahead of both James Dutton and Kam Dixon. Jenner was just 0.7s ahead of Dixon in third place. Once again, Owen took the fastest lap putting him on pole for race 3. This time Dixon set the second fastest time and Dutton completing the front row.
Dixon took to the top step of the podium in race three ahead of Jenner, Jack Bednarek and James Dutton. All four riders were split by less than 1.5s over the finish line. Dixon dropped back to third part way through the race but battled his way back to the front. Jenner never dropped lower than second and that was where he remained.
The final race of the weekend and it was once again Owen Jenner who was able to take victory, though not by much! By far the closest finish of the weekend. Jenner beat Dixon to the flag by just 0.011s. Dixon managed to get the fastest lap of the race and with it, the weekend. Jenner took three wins out of four demonstrate his winning potential.
