Louis Foster Feels No Pressure Ahead Of Title Fight

Louis Foster has had an incredible year on the British F4 championship. He has taken the second highest number of wins of any driver and currently sits third in the championship.

Having won three out of the last four races, Louis was asked what his recent form has been down to and what his approach to the final round will be:

“I’ve been able to understand the car a lot more and looking at things in a lot more detail, adding that with the experience gained over the year, I feel confident how to get the best out of the car, the team and myself.”

“I’ll be going into Brands Hatch with the same approach I have every race weekend. There’s no pressure on my end so I’ll be going out there to have some fun and enjoy the last weekend of the season.”

The 16 year old took to his first full season of car racing in 2018, competing in the Ginetta Junior Championship, securing the Rookie Championship title and runner up overall. The good form saw him join the British F4 grid with reigning champions, Double R.

Speaking about his confidence in Double R, Foster said:

“I was confident joining Double R as they are the best team on the grid and are so well prepared. We had a good winter, I learnt a lot prior to the start of the season and my pace was really good. But I just took it one race at a time and aimed to do the best job I could every time I got in the car.”.

Louis is just 30 point behind the lead of the British F4 championship with 3 races to go. At Silverstone, the last round, he scored 37 more points than current championship leader, Zane Maloney, so all is still to play for. The final round of the year will be at Brands Hatch, which Louis appears to enjoy:

“Brands Hatch GP is my favourite circuit! I ran well there last year in Ginettas and went well around the Indy circuit earlier in the year. We were fastest in sector one, and that’s the same for the GP layout, so that bodes well. It’s all about carrying good minimum speed and jockeying the brake, and those are the type of corners I’ve performed well in all year.”

We would like to wish Louis all the best ahead of the final round, it’s going to be very exciting to watch!
