Bemsee rookie 600 rider Toby Reynolds has landed a wildcard entry for the Bennetts British Superbike round at Brands Hatch this weekend. He will be riding his newly acquired Yamaha R6.
Riding in rookie 600’s, Toby has had a lot of success this season, securing third place in the championship along with his first win at the final round. It wasn’t the easiest start however. He crashed and injured himself in the first race at round three meaning he missed four races that weekend.
He also missed the next round at Donington Park due to funds but was able to return to complete the rest of the season. In the remaining 16 races, Toby finished every single one and none lower than 4th.
Since acquiring the new model R6, Toby did the final Bemsee round in the MRO Clubman 600 class, gaining experience and a number of top 10 finishes aboard the new machine.
Posting on his social media, Toby said:
“This time next week I’ll be leaving home to make my way to Brands Hatch British Superbikes for a wildcard in the superstock 600 series. This is a big step for me and something I’ve wanted to do for years. Some people are going to be looking at this as a crazy move so early on and with no solid results to back it. But I’m really looking forward to the experience and learning as much as I can from the faster guys around me.”
We’d like to wish Toby all the best, the final round of the BSB championship is going to be exciting!
